It all started when I studied FdA Creative Advertising at Newcastle College.
Following graduation, I was taken on in a part time role Graphic & Marketing Assistant in the Central Marketing team at Stagecoach Group. The position soon became full-time graphic designer, and that’s where I learnt how to put my new skills to real work. The position was varied and exactly what I needed straight from college.
My next chapter took me to DFDS, in their Brand Marketing team as Graphic Designer. Similar in set up as Stagecoach just bigger, with ships instead of buses but always with customer marketing at the front of minds.
In both in-house roles I was involved in large scale projects – particularly, the roll out of new branding, new websites, but not forgetting the coordination and briefing of photoshoots. Ever seen a drone photoshoot mid-sail in the North Sea, ever seen a bus photoshoot without a bus?
Beyond my career, I’m most comfortable when I’m hosting & cooking a feast.. even if it’s just the two of us mid week. Strong believer that Sunday’s are for roast dinners & resting. I don’t enjoy exercise but I know I must try harder, we can’t enjoy everything, don’t mind a little walk though.
