Way back in August 2016 I illustrated a floral pattern; there was no real reason for designing it, sometimes it’s nice to get lost in our practise and just design something pretty.

Still lost in my laptop screen, I dropped the print into a font and created an alphabet.. this led to a few “generic” products. The alphabet print for one, then a few Mam cards, a couple of keyring designs. I then took it into a more personalised area, with age cards, name cards & personalised initial prints being the most popular items to date.

In all this time (it flies doesn’t it) I still love this floral print. It keeps lending itself to new projects too, and everytime it is ordered or personalised, it still looks as pretty as it began. It feels so good too that I can still be selling, designing and enjoying a piece of work after a little while.

As a designer, I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that you can become bored of past work. Maybe you’ve looked at it too often, or just grown out of it. I definitely think this one will be with me for the long haul. <3
